Hip & ridge & starter shingles
A roof covered with TECHNONICOL roofing shingles offers dependable protection against all weather conditions. Their flexible design, advanced composition, and easy installation make them ideal for creating a strong, long-lasting roof—even on the most intricate architectural styles.
High-quality components
TECHNONICOL produces roofing shingles in strict accordance with the EN 544 standard. It provides for a minimum mass of 1300 g/m2 of bitumen in single-layer shingles and 1500 g/m2 in multilayer ones.
TECHNONICOL roofing shingles layers

The carefully engineered structure of TECHNONICOL shingles delivers both strength and aesthetic appeal. The top layer, made of hydrophobized basalt granules, provides reliable protection against UV rays and mechanical impact. These colored basalt particles come in a wide range of shades, adding vibrant, eye-catching beauty to the roof.
Beneath this, two layers of high-quality bitumen ensure excellent waterproofing, heat resistance, and exceptional flexibility for long-lasting performance in all weather conditions.
Reinforcement of TECHNONICOL roofing shingles with fiberglass gives it tensile strength. Lower layer protection does not allow shingles in the package to stick together.
Along with the optimal structure, TECHNONICOL roofing shingles have a whole list of advantages that favorably differ this building material from competitors:
- It is a safe and reliable building material that ensures a long service life for your roof.
- Resistance to algae for 10 years is officially guaranteed for some collections.
- TECHNONICOL company provides a warranty for a period of 30 to 60 years.
- A diversity of basalt granules shades gives depth and volume to the tile’s textures, creating a magnificent roof
- The mineral composition is resistant to UV exposure and keeps color intensity for a long time.
- All-weather bitumen roofing shingles will serve equally well in any climate zone with a temperature range between -70°C to +80°C.
- Bitumen shingles are lightweight if compared to ceramic (clay), slate or concrete roof tiles, which reduces the load and increases safety.
- The technologically mature structure and composition of the multilayer coating make residential roofing highly quiet. Exceptional wind resistance to the special sealed lower layer of roof tiles.
Shingles styles
TECHNONICOL offers a variety of single-layer and architectural multilayer roofing shingle collections, each with unique features, distinct shapes, and styles to give your roof a one-of-a-kind look.
Architectural multilayer roofing shingles

The CONTINENT collection features elite triple-layer bitumen shingles designed to imitate the look of old roofs, with rectangular tiles that create a rich, dimensional appearance.
The COUNTRY AR collection offers double-layer shingles that produce a natural, textured effect. Colored basalt granules with copper prevent algae growth, keeping your roof clean.
The JAZZ collection shares a similar shape but with thicker shingles for enhanced durability and resistance to wind and harsh weather. The nailing area is reinforced with fiberglass for added strength and flexibility.
The WESTERN collection stands out with a patented rhombus design and beveled corners, creating a unique holographic effect. These double-layer shingles come in classic colors with shimmering shades and include a self-adhesive strip for superior wind resistance.
Single-layer roofing shingles

TECHNONICOL offers traditional bitumen shingles with a self-adhesive layer on the bottom, which provides the best adhesion to the roof surface. CLASSIC AR collection is presented in several variations of patterns and fashionable shades. Copper-containing granules reliably protect shingles against algae growth. TROPIC APP collection was created specifically for use in India, where the most common installation method is torching. Roofing shingles on a base of APP modified bitumen composition have incredible mechanical properties and heat resistance above 150°C
Installation
There are two main installation methods: torching and nailing. The torching method is commonly used in India.

1.Non-flammable roof decking should be cleaned thoroughly to remove all dirt and dust. The base can be cast-in-place reinforced concrete, cement-bonded particleboard, or fiber cement board.
2.Apply a BITUMEN PRIME COATING and allow it to dry completely. This usually takes up to 12 hours, but depending on temperature and humidity, the drying time may vary.
3.Strengthen the protruding parts of the eaves and gables.
4.Install the underlay membrane ULTRAPLAST B along the valleys and roof slopes by torching it. After torching, press and straighten the membrane using a roller.
5.Start laying the roofing shingles from the valley area, then continue installation on the regular roof slopes. Make sure to direct the torch flame only to the underlay membrane and not onto the shingles themselves. The adhesion occurs by melting the bitumen compound of the underlay membrane and pressing the shingles onto it with a roller.
6.Install shingles on the hips by following the cascading method. Complete the roof by working on the ridge zones, using mechanical fixation for the ventilation components, and then covering them with hip and ridge shingles.
7.For steep roofs with a slope of ≥ 60°, especially when using shingles from the JAZZ and COUNTRY collections, nails should be used as an additional fixation method.
8.The nailing method, which is widely used around the world, is also suitable for installing any TECHNONICOL roofing shingles.
The nailing method, which is the most popular around the world, is also applicable for the installation of any TECHNONICOL roofing shingles.

1.Wood decking (OSB-3, plywood, tongue-and-groove boards) is securely fixed to the rafter system.
2.Once the base is prepared, begin reinforcing the eave overhangs with metal planks.
3.Next, lay the self-adhesive underlay membrane in the valley and eave zones. Then, cover the remaining roof area with underlay membranes meant for mechanical fixation.
4.After installing the underlayment, reinforce the fronton (gable) overhangs using metal fronton planks.
5.Install TECHNONICOL shingles by fastening them with roofing nails. Note that the installation rules may vary depending on the cutting pattern of the shingles.
6.Before installing certain collections, remove the protective film from the back side of the shingles.
7.In the case of triple-layer shingles, the protective film must be removed prior to installation. For the CONTINENT collection, unlike other patterns, 45-mm roofing nails should be used for fastening along the indicator line.
8.Each new layer of shingles must fully cover the nail heads of the previous layer.
9.For added thermal insulation, an additional layer of PIR boards or stone wool slabs can be applied.
10.Full installation details for bitumen shingles on pitched roofs are provided in the relevant TECHNONICOL manuals.
11.Bitumen roofing shingles offer a highly practical solution for pitched roofs. The exceptional quality of these roofing products is backed by a material warranty of up to 60 years.
